Purchased the phone itself from Orange retail store in Golders Green,
£180 for the phone including £60 worth of goodies and £10 call credit.
The Skullcandy headphones cost about £35 alone, they're quite good ones!



My new Blackberry 8520. Love the yellow housing,
which is also free along with 2 other colors, makes it look like a toy.



The phone, however, is locked to the Orange network, and I fancy the O2 better.
I surveyed around and found this website which offers unlocking services to most
phone makes and models - Unlocking.Com.




Unlocking Your BlackBerry

To unlock, all you have to do is provide your phone's IMEI code by keying in *#06# on your phone, it will appear like the picture above. Fill in that code on their website and make payment and the manufacturer-authorized subsidy code to unlock your phone will be sent to you within an hour, or even shorter via text or email. Instructions on how to unlock are very direct and simple. I purchased the codes for £11.99 three weeks ago, cheaper than anywhere else including third party phone unlocking shops (£20) and Orange network (£30), in Kuala Lumpur I was told it costs above RM100 to unlock as well. But it seems the price has gone up to £19.99 now. Despite the price hike I strongly recommend Unlocking.Com, very efficient and promising services, plus easy and saves the hassle. However there is one flaw with Unlocking.Com, the codes sent might not work. If this happens, you will need to contact support and provide details of the error. A different code will be sent soon after, and it will do its job, well at least for me. Some might take up to three different codes before it unlocks!
