Fuerteventura, Spain

Following the previous post, here comes the first entry of my trip to Fuerteventura, Spain.
The entire 7 day trip costs £300 in total, including flight, accommodation, and expenses.

What a bargain!

Yet another budget trip since Majorca last summer *bliss* :)

My first time traveling with Ryanair. I've had a bad feeling about this..

The tranquil lands of Britain

Arriving at our destination, the Martian lookalike land

As if somebody played The Sims on this piece of deserted land.

Road trip down to Corralejo, one of the few major towns in the entire island

One of the main roads around Corralejo

Our 3 star self-catered apartment, Brisamar

I initially booked to stay in Playa Park Club, few minutes drive away from Brisamar Hotel. Upon arrival at Playa Park reception, the staff started waffling about then broke the news and said they were fully booked for the week and we would be 'upgraded' and transferred to stay in Brisamar instead. Fully booked? We booked it too and we're the unfortunate one to be pushed about. It was rather shocking that they seem to have arranged everything without informing us, let alone consulting. Staff was not apologetic at all as if we had to follow his order to be transferred to another hotel. Manager was not around either to deal with this issue. It looks to me what seems like a normal procedure that they push customers to another hotel without permission. We didn't have a choice but to move to Brisamar, which I don't think is an upgrade considering it looks pretty much the same however I rather stay there due to excellent customer service and better location. All in all, no regrets being transferred to Brisamar. Playa Park Club, extremely poor customer service.

Apartments in Brisamar

One bed apartment on the lower and two bed on the upper

Huge swimming area, and jacuzzi too

Sunny day in the town of Corralejo, full of British and German tourists

Weather has been good throughout, sunny spells but extremely strong winds it gets very chilly at night.
Definitely need sweaters and jackets

Beautiful yellow cubicle houses

One of the few grills restaurant that we have yet to try out

la Dolve Vita, yet to try that but been highly recommended by the local Spanish

Las Palmeras local shopping centre 1 minute away from our hotel

Not fully opened during non-peak times. Got a couple of shops like Zara and Natura.

Very fancy decorations unfortunately not many to showcase to

Last photo of the day before I catch some sleep.

Holiday in Canarias

Too little sunshine in the last month and will only get worse in next few months till spring,
I decided to make a short getaway to Fuerteventura in Canary Islands

Teaser for the next post
Some really amazing scenic photos :)

Eerily beautiful Fuerventura
As though I just landed on a martian planet, literally

It's hardly Spain anymore considering it's only next to Africa
The sands in northern Fuerteventura is said to be blown from Africa, that's how near it is!

Overlooking the North Atlantic Ocean

You get a bit of everything, the ocean, mountains, even volcanos, and
also the sand dunes! <3

Till then, I'll have to pick up some books for my upcoming exam in January.
Merry Christmas everyone :)

Universal Studios

Aloha! friends and ohana...

Fortunately enough, I remembered bringing my camera during my trip to Singapore last Sept
Was pretty excited to see Universal Studios opening in Asia, last time I went to one
was Warner Brothers in Gold Coast, Australia. Let's take a ride through my stream
of photos baybeh

Photobucket

At the entrance of US, there're some pretty pointless candy shops out there

Photobucket

That Universal Studios Globe. Ah!
The normal one-day ticket will do for the whole day
But if you have 4 hours to do the entire park, get the fast lane ticket
Queues for some rides like Madagascar is painfully long even though it's crap

Photobucket

Right after the entrance and also exit, you get stores every where
Don't spend yet. You'll get loadsa chance as you go along

Photobucket

Voila! That's "New York" for you

Photobucket

As artificial as it can look, give them a little bit of credit would ja.

Photobucket

My homies!

Photobucket

I get the idea, we're in New York alright, not Singapore.

Photobucket

I so wanted to do some yoga on there

Photobucket

Finally after walking through the intensely artificial NY architectures
I couldn't wait to go Far Far Away, some where they go all out - completely artificial

Photobucket

That's what I'm talking about...! Reminds me of the opening to every Disney film

Photobucket

Oh yes right there, she sure does look like a trendy Asian ogres. *grrrr*

Photobucket

Awww... I didn't know Shrek was an A-list celebrity?

Photobucket

After 15 minutes, I found myself lost among a crowd of Asians in Egypt. Strange.

Photobucket

Actually, this is pretty impressive I must say. Probably the best sculpture in the entire park
It's maassssivveee...

Photobucket Photobucket

Give me some hats to fiddle around there. I'm Queen Tuttuttuuk.

Photobucket

Oh oh oh.. The Waterworld.
Kevin Costner remember? This show is pretty impressive. A must-go.

Photobucket

Now this one, I understand that boys go crazy about it, just don't know why

Photobucket

When I went there in September, parts of the Jurassic Park was closed.
All I did was EAT

Photobucket

The scene not to be missed. It's ought to be there really

Photobucket

From billions of years ago to the futuristic side

Photobucket

That is one helluva crazzzzzy ride! Looking at it makes me high

Photobucket

Go for the Blue one. You get lifted up with your legs swinging around in the sky. Awesome
The queue was only 15 minutes considering it's a weekend.
Tip: Don't jump off your seat when you're getting off the ride at the end!

Photobucket

I wonder if they're gona build a ride on Optimus Prime and fly us around.

Overall rating: 4✭
Would I go again? Yes, probably.
One more time with my partner, and one last time with my future kids. lol
